Sheetz stores have a "Smile Policy" Bad teeth? Don't bother applying!

According to a recent report, Sheetz convenience store and gas station has a policy that says people with visible teeth problems should not be hired. Business Insider reports, the employee handbook says “applicants with obvious missing, broken, or badly discolored teeth (unrelated to a disability) are not qualified for employment with Sheetz.”

Business Insider describes what Sheetz calls their “smile policy.” Based on the rules Sheetz’s allows a timeframe for employees, which “should not typically exceed 90 days,” to resolve their dental issues. “In the event a current employee develops a dental problem that would limit their ability to display a pleasant, full, and complete smile, we cannot permit this situation to go on indefinitely,”

According to news reports, Sheetz corporate is reviewing the policy to make sure "“our policies are aligned with Sheetz’s commitment to foster a culture of respect."
