Dick's Sporting Goods stores didn't have any issues surviving the pandemic, sales were up in a major way with people wanting to exercise at home and get equipment to get outdoors more... in fact we went looking for kayaks and bikes and had a hard time finding any in stock!
So now Dick's is planning to expand their stores into what they call "experiential" stores!
They call them Dick's House of Sports. It includes an outdoor field for sporting events, a rock-climbing wall, and indoor wellness spaces. So you get to shop and workout at the same time, and talk to fitness experts about what to buy.
Sounds fun... I remember when they TOOK OUT the climbing wall at a few Dick's stores (I thought for liability) now they're going back in it looks like!
