One of Niall Horan’s artists delivered an “unbelievable” rendition of “Hard Fought Hallelujah” by Jelly Roll and Brandon Lake.
The performance took place during the latest Knockout round on The Voice, which aired on Monday evening (November 24). Kirbi, 24, from Florence Alabama, earned praise from Coaches Michael Bublé, Snoop Dogg and Reba McEntire, who told Kirbi, “you got into it. It was very emotional.”
Bublé applauded the Alabama-born artist for having “the guts to take on songs that seem like they may not be in your lane.” Snoop said it was “the perfect song for you.”
“I feel like I’m gonna pass out,” Horan said when he had to choose between Kirbi and Dustin Dale Gaspard, who performed The Black Crowes’ “She Talks to Angels” during the Knockouts. “Kirbi, that was your best performance to date without a shadow of a doubt. It was beautiful to watch, beautiful to listen to, you just smashed it.”
Lake, a Christian singer-songwriter, first released “Hard Fought Hallelujah” in November 2024. He debuted the duet version of “Hard Fought Hallelujah” with Jelly Roll in February 2025: “So I’ll bring my hard-fought, heartfelt / Been-through-hell hallelujah / And I’ll bring my storm-tossed, torn-sail/ Story to tell hallelujah/ God, you’ve been patient/ God you’ve been gracious / Faithful whatever I’m feeling or facing / So I’ll bring my hard-fought, heartfelt / It is well Hallelujah.”
Jelly Roll is part of the star-studded lineup of the 2025 iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour presented by Capital One. Horan declared Kirbi the winner of the Knockout round.
“What she did in her performance tonight was just undeniable,” he said. “There was no way she could sing like that, give the emotion that she gave, and leave the competition. She absolutely deserves to be in my top four. I’m so excited going into the Playoffs. …She was unbelievable there.”
