Tim McGraw released a new ballad with a heartfelt message on Friday (October 11).
“People Like Us” serves as “a celebration of our shared journey through life,” McGraw wrote in a caption on Instagram as he announced the song's arrival on Friday morning. “We all have unique paths, but at our core, we’re connected by the same hopes, dreams, and challenges that make us human. For me, this song is about seeing ourselves in others - recognizing our common experiences of joy, pain, triumph, and struggle.
“My hope is that when you listen, you’ll feel that connection and be reminded of the beauty in our shared humanity,” he continued. “Music has a way of touching our hearts and bringing us together. Let’s keep lifting each other up and moving forward as one human family.”
McGraw’s newest song follows his live rendition of “One Bad Habit,” which appeared on his 6-track EP, Poet’s Resumé, last year. McGraw released the collection following his latest full-length album, Standing Room Only. The country star said at that time that the songs that appear on the project send a message “that there is a purpose that we’re here. there is a reason that we’re here.”
