Thomas Rhett and his wife Lauren Akins have always loved Christmas time, and now with two young daughters in the picture, it's become even more enjoyable.
The family of four, going on five, are starting to figure out what their Christmas traditions are going to be from now on. Rhett recently told his record label, “I think a lot of them are gonna be stemmed on traditions that we grew up having, like, whether it’s opening one gift on Christmas Eve or always getting new ornaments for the Christmas tree."
The family already has decided on a few traditions, one of them being watching The Santa Clause movie "a thousand times" ahead of Christmas day. Additionally, the family celebrates the holiday five or six days after Christmas day passes.
"We're not ready for it to end," Rhett says, adding, "And we always decorate our house and we love Christmas. It’s our favorite time of the year, and as our kids get older, hopefully they can help us make some new traditions.”
Rhett's family has a lot of great traditions, however there is one that the country singer wants to come to an end. He'd like to get a fake Christmas tree instead of a real one, however that's something Lauren most likely won't let happen. "I wish we could get a fake one but you know, we're gonna get a real one for forever probably," Rhett says.
Rhett has recently been praised by Lauren for being "Santa's elf" over the last few weeks as she's been battling pregnancy sickness. "Thomas Rhett has basically been Santa’s elf, cooking, doing baths & the girls’ bedtimes and still making time to take me on a date," Lauren writes alongside an adorable photo of the couple posted on Instagram. She adds, "Thank you for loving our little growing family so well honey. We LOVE you."
