Carrie Underwood Celebrates Important Anniversary

Carrie Underwood still gets emotional when she remembers one important milestone in her career.

On March 15, the country superstar celebrated the 10-year anniversary of the date she was invited to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry by the legendary Randy Travis.

“This makes me cry every single time. Thank you for welcoming me into the family 10 years ago,” Carrie tweeted at the Opry on the anniversary.

After a Saturday night performance of her single “All American Girl,”  Carrie was surprised when Randy snuck up behind her to ask the question.

“I was asked by the management here at the Grand Ole Opry to ask you if you would like to be their next member,” he said at the time.

Carrie was quick to say yes and reacted to the iconic invitation backstage a few seconds later.

“That was so amazing,” she said. “I couldn’t have imagined it from a different person.”

Garth Brooks officially inducted Carrie into Grand Ole Opry on May 10, 2008.
