The highly anticipated annual GERMAN FEST at First Lutheran Church, 1701 – 19th Street in Parkersburg, will be held Saturday, October 3, from 11 am – 2 pm.
The traditional German Bratwurst meal will include delicious warm German potato salad, grilled brats and buns, sauerkraut, green peppers and onions, and spaetzle and gravy. This meal will also include a dessert and drink for the single price of $15.00.
A hot dog meal with homemade sauce, chips, dessert, and drink will be available for children (and adults if they prefer) for $5.00.
Food will be served in the Fellowship Hall until 2:00 pm. A limited number of tickets will be sold so it is recommended guests come early!
The popular German Band will be returning and performing on the lawn. Some pop-up tents and tables will be set up on the lawn and guests are encouraged to bring along a lawn chair, get comfortable, and enjoy the band.
Sherry Fosselman, First Lutheran organist, will be presenting a 30-minute organ concert at 12:30 pm in the Sanctuary. Enjoying the concert in the beautiful Sanctuary is always a highlight of the day.
Following at 1:00 pm, Pastor Ian Reid will give an illustrated presentation about the First Lutheran Church Sanctuary. “Meanings and Symbols” is his topic. He will share insight into the many items, symbols, the recently refurbished stained glass windows, etc., that are part of the many and varied worship services in the Church.
