IMF Cuts U.S. Economy Growth Forecasts

The International Monetary Fund is sounding less optimistic about the U.S. economy.  The IMF announced Sunday that it is lowering its growth forecast for the U.S. for the next two years and now forecasts 2.1% growth this year and next.  The global financial institution had forecast 2.3% growth this year and 2.5% in 2018.

The IMF says uncertainty over the Trump administration's economic policies is the main reason for the downgrade.  The U.S. will release second quarter growth numbers this week.  The nation's economy grew only 1.4% in the first quarter.
